It's FALL!

I’m my 7+ years of living in the Bay Area I’ve found that Northern California is usually a month or two behind the rest of the country when it comes to Fall. As much as I would love to join my friends in other states in dressing in sweaters and leggings, drinking hot Fall beverages and taking pictures amid the gorgeous changing leaves, I can’t. It’s still in the mid 80s here in CA, very few of the leaves have turned or will turn for at least another month, and to be honest I tried wearing a sweater and leggings the other day on a zoo trip and it didn’t go well. By the end of the day I was soaked with sweat, and the minute I got home I raced to my room to change into shorts and a tank top… It was gross and definitely did not meet my idyllic Fall vision.

Last week though I was determined to get some “Fall” shots and we managed to find a couple fun places with some golden fall vibes and there were actually some leaves that had turned!! Yeah California!

Road Trippin

Mood: Wanderlust

Music: Road Trippin' - Dan and Shay

I have a confession to make.  Even though I live an amazing life with an amazing family I'm still consumed by wanderlust at times...  Like a small part of me is missing when I'm not out in the woods or hiking in the mountains. Any of you feel the same?  Having grown-up-jobs and two littles (under 2 1/2) tends to make travel harder than it used to be when it was just me and J and I find myself dreaming of just getting out on the road, having no plan, and just seeing where the road takes me.  Nowadays we have to plan everything because Lord forbid we forget a favorite toy or binkie... but I'm hoping against hope that somehow I can raise my littles to be wanderers/adventurers. Lovers of nature and seekers of beauty.  Now to figure out how to do that while living in the burbs of the East Bay.  Anyone have any ideas?  If so please share!
